“ This place is incredible! The atmosphere is really nice, with a modern design that feels both stylish and comfortable. We had one of our best brunches here in Austin, and it's definitely a spot worth checking out. The menu has a great selection of brunch dishes, and everything we tried was delicious. We went with the Ham & Gruyere Croque Madame and the Brunch Burger--both were seriously good. The Croque Madame came with crispy fried potatoes and a fresh arugula salad, while the burger was juicy and perfectly cooked. And if you're a coffee lover, they serve French Press, which was a great touch. For dessert, we tried their homemade ice cream--one strawberry and one basil--and they paired so well together. Such a unique and tasty combo! On top of all that, the service was exceptional. Our server was super attentive and really made sure we had an amazing experience. If you're looking for a fantastic brunch spot in Austin, this is definitely the place to go! ”

“ Some meals really resonate and cause you to think about them well after they are finished. My dinner at @fndaustin did just that. The mission of @fndaustin is to produce foreign-inspired dishes that are domestically sourced. Get it? Foreign & Domestic! It is small inside, but the food smells are mouthwatering! We were seated outside and our server, Gerson, was a pleasure. His enthusiasm for all the food on the menu and, in particular, our choices, was infectious and we could not wait to try our dishes. Had to get their famed Gruyere Popovers which is served with an amazing onion butter schmear. It's hard, but be careful not to fill up on those! We also ordered the steak tartare, a dish I was trying for the first time. It was well-seasoned and was served with beautiful lattice chips but they were too flimsy for the meat. We used that delicious popover as our scoop! For our entrees, my son ordered the Whey Braised Goat Neck with malfadine pasta, dill and pepitas for crunch. It was so tasty and rich. I ordered the Duck Confit Cassoulet with white beans, garlic sausage and fresh herbs. The duck leg and thigh quarter was so tender, and the beans and sausage below was the definition of a comfort food! for dessert, my son got the Juniper Pot de Creme with cocoa crumble and I got the Carrot Cardamom non-dairy ice cream. Both were fantastic and unique flavors that showcased the talents and vision of @fndaustin! It is a meal I am dreaming about a week later! ”

“ Need to do my yearly review for one of my favorite spots. Can confirm all of 2024 that this spot is very consistent in quality. The steak and eggs brunch is what we come here for. It never disappoints. It's just the right amount of food to not leave hungry or too full. The popovers are our other go-to. They are addictive, the butter is crack dip. The bread is perfectly fluffy. Service is always super attentive and kind. They changed the waiting area some. They still have the outdoor seating which is where we sat this time. Love F&D and hope they stay around for a good long time! They get a Michelin star in my eyes. ”

“ Foreign & Domestic has a really cool vibe to the establishment. A nice laid back dim dining area. The bar seating opens right to the kitchen which offers a unique and a rare view to see behind the scenes how your food is made. This is something different that most places don't offer. The service was friendly and fast and the food was good. The food really didn't standout as something truly unique and mind blowing. They do change their menu often depending on the time of the year and season. ”

“ I came here for dinner on Saturday evening with my parents. A member of the Eater 38 for Austin, I was excited to try this North Loop restaurant. It's located in a quirky neighborhood, and parking is limited street/parallel parking. I'm not a local, but as a transplant this area feels like it lives up to the "weird" moniker as it doesn't appear over-developed. F&D is one of Austin's original farm-to-table restaurants, so that's fitting. Reservations are highly recommended, and they have a couple of bar seats as well. My favorite appetizers were the Texas Peach Salad and Miso Butter Gnocchi. The featured Gemelli pasta was not a crowd favorite. I ordered the tomato leaf risotto, which was just okay. The flavor reminded me a lot of a pasta I've had before that I found pungent, but the texture was great and I absolutely loved the peeled organic tomatoes at the end. I tried the market fish and the short rib campanelli, with the latter giving me a better taste than the risotto. The highlight of the meal was definitely the desserts. We got the creme brulee and 2 scoops of ice cream (juniper/olive oil + carrot/cardamom) to share. Their creme brulee is so unique, with sesame and pear flavors. And finally the juniper/olive oil ice cream is something you'd want to savor forever and re-order each time you come to F&D, or however long it remains on their menu! ”

“ I keep driving by here and they always have the cutest vibes with their outdoor tent patio seating and fairy lights, and I'm so glad I FINALLY went! They only do brunch on Sundays, but everything was so delicious from the shared fresh baked goods ($5-10): gruyere and pepper popovers, cardamom cinnamon roll, zucchini bread with lime creme fraiche, and the mains ($14-20): frittata, focaccia benny (YUM), fried pork grits (a little rich and salty), and light and fluffy berry lemon ricotta crepe. The service was also amazing and really sensitive/observant of our needs (when to bus plates, but not too early-- wiping down tables when needed etc), while also not being "OVER" present Honestly, considering our table got all this with coffee / juice and left STUFFED, $30 after tax and tip seemed like a pretty good deal. I definitely want to come back here for their dinner and dessert options some other time!! ”
